About Us:

The Lafayette Company is a boutique political communications firm based in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. We specialize in providing strategic communication services to a diverse range of clients, with a focus on center-right and conservative policy and political communities. We are currently seeking a highly skilled full-time Digital PR Manager to join our growing team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execute social campaigns across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and X, tailoring format and tone to each platform
  • Use our proprietary AI powered platform to monitor coverage, track sentiment, and identify content opportunities in real time
  • Develop ways to optimize company activity with common AI tools
  • Write copy that fits our clients’ voice, whether that’s a punchy caption, a script, or a longer form post
  • Create basic graphic images using Canva or a similar tool
  • Track performance against key social media KPIs and translate findings into actionable recommendations for content strategy and optimization
  • Update and maintain the company website in WordPress, including new pages, content updates, and basic site fixes
  • Manage multiple client workstreams at once, often with same day or next day turnaround
  • Stay ahead of platform algorithm changes and emerging trends, and bring that intelligence back to the team
  • Identify creative, out of the box ways to engage on issues and capture opportunities that align with client priorities and goals
  • Increase awareness and exposure of critical branded priority initiatives through paid advertising and organic promotion across social media and other digital platforms
  • Develop regular reports tracking key metrics across digital platforms and communicate performance to key stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain workflow processes and structure to keep execution effective across multiple issue areas at once

Qualifications and Experience

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating short form video, photography, and social campaign work, including graphic design
  • Deep, current knowledge of Instagram Reels, TikTok trends, platform algorithms, and social analytics
  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling instincts, with the range to shift tone across clients and platforms
  • Familiarity with social media management and scheduling tools
  • Comfort working independently in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • A creative mindset that generates ideas distinct enough to stand out in a crowded feed
  • Willing to work in-person with the team in Old Town Alexandria, with periodic travel
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Salary and Benefits

  • $47,000–$53,000 starting salary, depending on experience
