Morgan Martinez is a veteran communications strategist with more than 15 years of experience shaping international and political communications. At The Lafayette Company, Morgan leverages this comprehensive expertise to manage the firm’s client portfolio and growing team while leading business development initiatives. 
Prior to The Lafayette Company, Martinez served as Vice President of Communications, Membership, and Public Engagement at InterAction, the largest coalition of international NGOs. In this role, she oversaw the organization’s communications strategy, events and education, and membership portfolio. During her tenure, Martinez led the strategic realignment of InterAction’s communications strategy and oversaw InterAction’s flagship event, Forum.
Before InterAction, she was Deputy Director of External Affairs at the International Republican Institute, where she developed and implemented comprehensive global communications strategies spanning 62 overseas programs and 500+ employees. Morgan’s international expertise extends to on-the-ground communications for critical elections worldwide, including Tunisia’s first presidential election (2014), Ukraine’s post-Maidan parliamentary elections, and major electoral processes in Timor-Leste, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria.
Morgan’s innovative approach to political communications earned national recognition during her work as Director of Digital Strategy for Governor Buddy Roemer’s presidential campaign. Her groundbreaking strategies included orchestrating the first high-level politician Reddit AMA. Her work earned nominations for Mashable’s “Must Follow Politician” and a Shorty Award, and she was a guest speaker at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Morgan holds a B.A. in English from the University of the Pacific, where she was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She currently lives in Alexandria with her husband, daughter, and American bulldog.
